George Stephens developed a plan for a streetcar suburb on his father-in-law’s (John Spring Myers) farm in 1905. The neighborhood was designed by the Harvard-trained landscape architect, John Nolen, and work was underway by 1911.
Myers Park is distinguished for its winding tree-lined streets, large historic homes and architectural variety. Due to its landscaped beauty, it is one of the most-visited parts of Charlotte.
For those short on time, a simple drive through the neighborhood is worthwhile in order to view the large, historic mansions along the main streets.
A true classic in the heart of Myers Park that has a grand Foyer which is surrounded by elegant Living and Dining Rooms. Gourmet Kitchen with marble countertops and backsplash, stainless steel appliances, bar stool area and ample cabinetry. The kitchen adjoins the breakfast room which provides a beautiful view of the backyard. Family room opens into kitchen, breakfast room and covered back porch. The spacious Family room has new custom cabinetry, wet bar and wood burning fireplace. Located off the back hallway there is a private Guest Suite with a newly renovated full bath and sitting area. The lower level playroom includes two areas that can be a hobby room and tv room. A rare find in town that provides a level and private .5 lot that is well manicured with new landscaping.
