George Stephens developed a plan for a streetcar suburb on his father-in-law’s (John Spring Myers) farm in 1905. The neighborhood was designed by the Harvard-trained landscape architect, John Nolen, and work was underway by 1911.
Myers Park is distinguished for its winding tree-lined streets, large historic homes and architectural variety. Due to its landscaped beauty, it is one of the most-visited parts of Charlotte.
For those short on time, a simple drive through the neighborhood is worthwhile in order to view the large, historic mansions along the main streets.

Located on desirable Beverly Drive in the heart of Myers Park this stately home sits on one of only two larger lots on this street. With ~90 ft of street frontage and sitting atop a rolling hill this home has it all. The width of the lot allows for gracious rooms not normally found in homes on this street. A full renovation in 2013/14 infused the home with modern day conveniences like an open layout, walk in closets in every BR, a mudroom, and a laundry room while preserving the original charm. In addition, the home has first floor ceilings of 9 ft 3 inches adding to the open and airy feel. The second floor has permanent stairs to a very large walk up attic that could easily be finished off for more livable sq ft. The back yard is surrounded by gorgeous brick walls and the bluestone patio is nestled amongst lush, mature landscaping creating a total oasis.
